Tuition fees in Türkiye 2026: what private universities really cost

How much does a bachelor's degree cost at private universities in Türkiye and Northern Cyprus? Real price ranges for medicine, dentistry, psychology, engineering and business.

"How much does it cost to study in Türkiye?" is the question we hear most. The answer depends heavily on the university, the program and the language of instruction. The figures below are calculated from more than 5,800 programs at the 46 partner universities on our site (per year, discounted, USD).

The big picture

  • Half of all bachelor's programs cost less than $4,600 a year.
  • A quarter cost under $3,700 a year, and a quarter cost more than $7,000.
  • The lowest fees start at around $1,800 a year.

By field (bachelor's, per year)

Field Lowest Median
Medicine $11,000 $21,000
Dentistry $5,000 $18,500
Pharmacy $7,500 $10,900
Law $2,500 $5,760
Computer Engineering $2,200 $4,900
Psychology $1,800 $4,200
Architecture $1,800 $4,260
Business Administration $1,800 $4,000

What drives the price?

  • University: top-ranked universities (Koç, Sabancı, Bilkent) are considerably more expensive.
  • Language: English-taught programs usually cost more than Turkish-taught ones.
  • City: Istanbul offers the most choice; universities in Northern Cyprus (Nicosia, Famagusta, Kyrenia) are often more affordable.
  • Discounts: many programs carry discounts of up to 50%, and some up to 75%.

Master's and PhD

Master's and PhD fees are usually quoted for the whole degree, not per year. Many master's programs cost $3,000–10,000 in total.
