Yüksek İhtisas University was founded in Ankara in 2011 by the Turkish High Specialization Hospital Foundation and the Turkish State Hospitals Foundation (it opened as Ankara Bilge University and took its current name in 2013). The university is dedicated entirely to medicine and health sciences. In a small, close-knit setting, students work directly with their lecturers. The main campus is in Ankara's Balgat district.
